Der englische Mathematiker John Wallis hat im Jahr 1655 eine Darstellung für die Kreiszahl Pi als Grenzwert eines Produktes entdeckt. In diesem Produkt treten bis auf einen Faktor ausschließlich Quadrate von natürlichen Zahlen auf. In diesem Video wird das Resultat von Wallis hergeleitet. Als Folgerung ergibt sich eine Approximation der größten Einzelwahrscheinlichkeit einer binomialverteilten Zufallsvariablen mit Parametern 2n und p=1/2.
