Beschreibung

Humans like to mingle, so for thousands of years we build our cities around public spaces, also known as markets. Where people meet civilization is born and altered, friendships but also revolutions can develop in these places.

So these squares with high visibility and foot traffic are sought after by humans, corporations and governments alike but for very different reasons. By handing over those places to corporations we might loose some of our rights. Do we want that?

In this podcast episode with Historian and writer Leo Hollis we explore cities and public squares and ask what we as a civilization gain from them and why they are under threat now.
