Description
This video introduces our research poster presented at IEEE VR 2025:
"Enhancing Asynchronous Learning in Immersive Environments: Exploring Baseline Modalities for AR Avatar-Based Guidance."
The study evaluates three guidance modalities for asynchronous collaboration in spatially complex tasks:
AR video playback using a HoloLens.
AR avatar guidance on a Meta Quest Pro.
Handheld video playback on a smartphone.
Key Insights:
Smartphone video provides a reliable, non-immersive baseline due to usability and familiarity.
AR avatars enhance spatial awareness and task engagement but require interface improvements.
Findings contribute to the development of XR-based tools for industrial training and asynchronous learning.
